Privacy
The Job Wagon app and your data.

Who this covers
This page is about the Job Wagon app (the Android and iPhone app, and the Job Wagon website that staff sign in to). It is used by people who work for businesses that use Job Wagon, such as technicians, dispatchers and office staff. Your employer (the business you work for) decides who gets an account and controls its own records in Job Wagon. Job Wagon, LLC runs the service for them.
Our separate website privacy page covers the contact form on this site.
What the app collects
- Your account: your name, work email, phone number and role, set up by your employer.
- Your location, only when you switch it on. When you turn on location sharing, the app sends your phone's location to your employer's Job Wagon account, including when the app is closed or the screen is off. Android shows a notice the whole time it is on. You can switch it off at any time, and it switches itself off at 10 pm and does not run between 10 pm and 5 am. Locations are kept for 30 days. Only your own company can see them.
- Job details you and your office enter: customer names, addresses, phone numbers and emails, notes, work done, invoices, estimates and payments.
- Photos you take or choose in the app, such as job photos and vehicle VIN photos.
- Calls and texts made through the company line in the app (who was called or texted, when, and the text messages). Calls made or answered through the company line may be recorded and transcribed (turned into text) for quality and training; only your own company can listen to them or read them.
- Card payments: cards are processed by Stripe. Card numbers go straight to Stripe; Job Wagon does not store them. We keep the payment amount, date and the last four digits.
- Technical details: a random code for your phone so location sharing can be switched off remotely, and, once added, a code for sending you notifications.
The app does not read your phone's contacts, does not show ads and does not track you across other apps or websites.
How it is used
Only to run the service for your employer: showing you your jobs, letting the office send the nearest technician and tell customers when you will arrive, making invoices and taking payments, and sending texts and calls to customers. We do not sell your data or the customers' data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
We use trusted service providers to run Job Wagon, and they may only use the data to provide their service to us: Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (card payments), Twilio (calls and texts), Google (maps and directions; Google Firebase for notifications once added) and our email provider for sending invoices. We may also share data if the law requires it.
Security
All data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Each person only sees what their role allows: a technician sees their own jobs.
How long it is kept
Location history: 30 days. Job, customer and invoice records are kept for as long as your employer uses Job Wagon, or until your employer deletes them.
Your choices and deleting your data
You can switch location sharing off in the app at any time, and you can remove the app's location permission in your phone's settings. To ask for your account or data to be deleted, ask your employer, or email contact@getjobwagon.com and we will work with your employer to do it. Some records (for example invoices) may need to be kept by your employer for tax or legal reasons.
Children
Job Wagon is a work app for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18.
